Recruitment Microsite for OFGEM
CASE STUDY - NET ZERO ENERGY MICROSITE
Dawson Walker developed OFGEM's recruitment website to support their employer brand.
The Challenge:
Ofgem have set a target of creating a Net Zero energy system by 2050. This will require the most radical transformation of energy creation, storage and distribution in generations.
To achieve this Ofgem need to attract people with vision and imagination who can grasp the concept, see the potential and then make it happen.
Data and Digital are a big focus for other large organisations and government departments right now, so there’s lots of competition for top talent. However, these are some of the most exciting and challenging digital and data roles in government. Ofgem asked us to create a platform to really get that message across.
The Solution:
The solution was to develop a microsite dedicated to Data, Digital, Cyber and Programme Management. A destination for candidates to find out more about this monumental challenge, before applying to these crucial roles. We wanted to immediately get across the proposition on the home page thorough the use of bespoke illustration and headline.
Interviews
Led by Helen Crooks, Chief Data Officer, and working closely with the recruitment team, we interviewed key Heads of Department. We wanted to understand of how their business areas are contributing to this extraordinary challenge and defined the type of people who are likely to succeed in these roles.
Dedicated pages
We developed dedicated pages for each business area within the microsite. Visitors can find out more about OFGEM and view the roles currently being advertised. We also included slick job search functionality so all roles on the microsite can be easily filtered. This was done by category, location, salary range, work pattern and key word.
Look and feel
The microsite also had to mirror the look and feel of the newly launched corporate website. It also needed to adopt the same accessibility standards, whilst retaining a focus on careers at Ofgem within Data, Digital, Cyber and Programme Management.
The Result:
It’s early days but initial feedback from the team has been very positive. The microsite does all that we set out to achieve: it mirrors the corporate site and is an important part of the candidate journey to support this ongoing campaign.
