Intern, Dawson Walker Communications
Can you tell us a bit about your background and what you're studying?

I’m delighted to share my journey. Originally from India, I have a deep passion for fashion and art. I hold a Bachelor’s in Fashion Design, and a highlight was when my team and I won at New York Fashion Week with our collection, which was featured in a newspaper the following day. I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Fashion Communication at the Milano Fashion Institute in Milan, Italy, where I’m exploring the intersection of creativity and strategy. With experience styling for advertising campaigns and films, I’ve been able to contribute my skills to the team.

How would you describe yourself in three words, and why?

I would describe myself as creative, curious, and collaborative. I’m creative, as I enjoy crafting visuals, such as designing looks for advertising campaigns and making art in my free time. I’m curious, always seeking to learn more, through reading or learning new activities. And I’m collaborative, thriving in team settings, when I worked with production crews as a costume assistant. These qualities inspire me to contribute meaningfully to Dawson Walker’s projects.

What’s one fun or unexpected fact about you?

An interesting fact about me is that, back in India, I used to craft unique art pieces from materials like fabric scraps and bottle caps, sharing them with family at gatherings. That creative passion continues to inspire me, whether I’m sketching, creating digital animations on Procreate, learning a new musical instrument, or enjoying sports. This keeps my perspective innovative and I've brought that energy to Dawson Walker’s projects.

Where do you see yourself in five years, and how do you think this placement might help get you there?

In five years, I truly aspire to become a creative director in the fashion industry, leading campaigns that champion genuine sustainability and combat greenwashing to make a positive environmental impact. This placement at Dawson Walker offers a wonderful opportunity to work toward that goal. By enhancing my research and analysis skills and engaging in client projects, I’m developing the expertise needed to create campaigns with real impact. I’m immensely grateful for the chance to learn and grow with the team.
