Onboarding for leaders at Philip Morris International
CASE STUDY
Once a job offer is accepted then it is crucial to integrate and familiarise that individual into your organisation with good onboarding.
The Challenge:
PMI is the world’s most successful cigarette company, with the world’s most popular and iconic tobacco brands. But they have a bold vision: for a smoke-free future, building PMI’s future on smoke-free products that are a much better choice than cigarette smoking. Indeed, PMI’s vision is that these products will one day replace cigarettes.
To achieve such an ambitious business transformation PMI is attracting new skills into the business and new leaders to drive the transformation. Their vision is proving so compelling that they are attracting people who in the past wouldn’t have dreamt of working for a tobacco company. Having invested in the hiring process they have recognised how important it is to seamlessly onboard people taking them on an engaging, informative journey from offer acceptance through to induction and beyond.
The Solution:
Dawson Walker created online documents using an easily updatable digital platform that provides secure external access and an engaging and informative experience.
Our solution was designed to take candidates through a structured programme of information and activity – with a timetable for consumption.
There is a lot of information to get across and we focused on simplifying it and making it visually interesting.
In addition we also made a digital guide describing the responsibilities and process for the internal stakeholders at PMI as they would be integral to the overall success.
The Result:
These new tools products have been welcomed internally at PMI by the Talent Acquisition Community and Leadership Team. Anecdotal feedback from new starters is very positive who have found the process and content engaging and informative.
