Virtual Event – Middle East Treasury Summit

CASE STUDY

Vicki Greenwood | Director of Global Events, ACT

The ACT were delighted to once again collaborate with Dawson Walker to bring together our successful Middle East Summit.   Dawson Walker provides a depth of understanding of the virtual events space which brings an elevated event experience for those using the platform, and a seamless behind-the-scenes support for our team as the organisers.  For anyone looking to work in this space, I cannot recommend them highly enough!

The Challenge:

The Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) is the chartered professional body for treasury. It represents the interests of the real economy, and educates and supports treasurers around the world. The Middle East Treasury Summit enjoyed a record-breaking year in 2019. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the normal format needed to change.

The Solution:

Following the success of the four day Virtual ACT Annual Conference in October we were commissioned to develop the two day event for the Middle East. The platform was designed with a multi-cultural audience in mind – and digital environments were developed to give an ambience and feel of Dubai – where the physical conference would normally take place.

The programme was focused on the theme: “Furthering innovation, developing sustainability” and was delivered in Dubai Standard Time, GMT+4. We configured the event platform with bespoke 2.5D environments and all of the functionality to make the event an engaging experience. Masses of relevant content was available and also streamed in live – and available to delegates for 30 days post event.

Highlights included an opening keynote address from Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, CEO, Alliances for Global Sustainability (AGS), and on the evening of the first day the ACT hosted the Middle East Treasury Awards – a glittery event that celebrated the best of treasury in the region.

During the Summit sponsors enjoyed high profile coverage and hosted stands in the exhibition hall and networking via chat and video calls took place throughout. 555 attendees enjoyed the opportunity to participate in 21 sessions and visited 12 stands over 2 days.
