The challenge

Transfrigoroute UK, now part of the Food Storage & Distribution Federation (FSDF) - the UK trade association that represents the temperature-controlled storage and logistics industry, needed to host the annual Transfrigoroute International (TI) Annual General Meeting and Conference in London for an expected 200 international delegates.

The solution

Dawson Walker Communications were engaged to find the perfect venue and then work with the FSDF team to devise, plan and manage the event including a partners’ programme and gala dinner.

The event team provided a comprehensive event management service to deliver a highly professional Conference and AGM, this included:

  • In-depth research and recce of a range of London venues
  • Online website and registration set-up
  • Full delegate management (hotel bookings, transport etc.)
  • Brand design and production (New look and feel)
  • Sponsorship packs
  • Pre advertising (on and offline)
  • Budget review
  • On site support
  • AV and staging
  • Simultaneous translation services – English/French and German
  • F&B
  • Sponsors exhibition

Attended by over 150 temperature-controlled transport and logistics professionals and 50 partners from 14 different countries, this year’s Conference and AGM was hosted at the Royal Garden Hotel in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It was agreed that this superb venue, which enjoys delightful views across Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, was seen by all as the ideal location for the conference.

The grand finale on the Friday evening was the gala dinner, held at Shakespeare’s famous Globe Theatre in the amazing Underglobe. Guests were treated to an evening of fine dining and dancing to the quintessentially British sounds of the ‘Beatles’ who had everyone up on their feet! En route the delegates took a leisurely boat trip down the River Thames along the South Bank to the Globe. The Partners’ programme, in addition to the shopping experiences, offered a number of exciting activities including a visit to the magnificent Victoria & Albert museum and a spin on the iconic London Eye.

The result

Chris Sturman CEO of the FSDF

“The whole event was viewed as a tremendous success by all concerned. The conference programme was creative, engaging and the impressive group of speakers stimulated many interesting debates – especially around the hot topic of Brexit. The Dawson Walker event team along with the hotel staff were highly professional and their attention to detail was meticulous throughout. They were always prepared to go the extra mile and nothing was too much trouble. It was a great experience”.
